Seminar Schedule this Year
The people below have donated their time at convention to provide seminars that share some of their callmaking techniques. Time and time again, call makers line up to share the tricks of the trade and help continue the tradition of call making. While registration is not required to attend, it is encouraged and appreciated by the seminar presenter. Please consider registering below, and don’t forget to let each of our seminar instructors know how much they are appreciated for volunteering their time.
Thursday February 13th, 2025 - 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Mike Lapp & Scott Basehore
Kicking off the 2025 seminars with a big bang we have Scott Basehore and Mike Lapp. There are no two call makers who have had as much success with box calls than Scott and Mike. Between the two of them there are over 50 Major awards in this competition These two guys are legendary and are volunteering their time to teach their secrets to making a great box call. Even if you are a seasoned callmaker you will learn some valuable tips in this seminar. All are welcome but seating will fill fast.
Thursday February 13th, 2025 - 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.
Tony Ezolt & Kevin Rouse
Keeping this going we have talked to both of these successful air operated callmakers and asked them to show some of their methods in callmaking. Both have had great success and are highly respected in the callmaking community. This is another seminar that should not be missed.
Thursday February 13th, 2025 - 3 p.m. to 5 p.m.
Clay Townsend & Jeff Lacey
Clay Townsend and Jeff Lacey are going to teach their techniques to achieving success with Box Calls, Pot Calls, and trumpets. Both have had major success in the areas that they will be teaching and know their way around the competition. With almost 10 major awards between them and over 20 first and second place placements in just the past 5 years, these two are a can’t miss.

Frank Sutliff
"Mouth Call Building 101" - We are truly lucky to have Frank Sutliff of Top Outdoor Products volunteering his time to share his knowledge in a highly requested seminar on the ins and outs of manufacturing your own diaphragm calls. Top Outdoor Products manufactures over 300,000 mouth calls per year and is highly regarded as one of the best producers in the country. Frank will have a power-point and will show how he produces these calls. You definitely do not want to miss this first of its kind seminar at the NWTF Convention. Sign up early and be sure to share.
Friday February 14th, 2025 - 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.
Brian Byers & Todd Hanson
Brian Byers and Todd Hanson are both Hall of Fame Callmakers who are joining forces again to bring to you a seminar. Brian Byers will be discussing and teaching call checkering and Todd Hanson will be giving instructions on inlay and wire inlay. These two are a serious talent and some these techniques taught can be applied to any type of call (Turkey or Waterfowl).
Saturday February 15th, 2025 - 8 a.m. to 10 a.m.
Brent Hoover
Brent just because eligible for the Hall of Fame with his best of show win in 2024 and there is no doubt that he will get votes for the 2026 inductees to the waterfowl competition hall of fame. Brent is going to present his Carving & Painting techniques which he has obviously mastered. All are welcome to join in in and learn from one of the best in the business. He will be teaching decorative waterfowl carving & painting.
