"Deer to the Streams" is only the second call ever made by Edward Oehlman. The call is handmade with a Sassafras sound board, on a Cherry box, with a simple Black Walnut inlay. Wood burned all by hand the call is decorated with a doe whitetail deer drinking from a stream. On each end a 5-point shed and a set of deer tracks. Across the base of the sound board reads Psalm 42:1. The scratch block is decorated with two simple turkey tracks connecting back to the calls intended use.

With a personal passion for Forestry, Natural Resources, and Conservation, while being an avid outdoorsman. I found myself trying my hand at Custom Turkey Call making for the sake of supporting the NWTF mission utilizing craftsman skills the Lord blessed me with. I completed my very first call in the winter of ‘24-‘25, which now resides in my wife’s office. With some great support from a couple veteran call makers I was able to create a couple calls I felt comfortable entering at the 2025 Grand National Call Making Competition. Each call I make is made entirely by hand, and wood burned (“Decorated”) entirely by hand. I make each call individual and unique with an effort to tell a story or depict a small aspect of His great creation, and/or conservation.

User entered description: "Seasons Early Sign" is of the first batch of calls ever made by Edward Oehlman. The call is handmade with a Sassafras sound board, on a Hard Maple box, with a simple Black Walnut inlay. Wood burned all by hand the call is adorned with a Flowering Dogwood branch in full bloom on one side, and a Morel Mushroom on the other. The scratch block is decorated with a small turkey body feather. As Dogwoods begin to bloom and Morels first emerge, God's creation reminds the hunter "Turkey Season is back again!"

User entered description: "Hunter in the Shadow" is of the first batch of calls ever made by Edward Oehlman. The call is handmade with a Black Walnut sound board, on a Hard Maple box. Wood burned all by hand the call's sound board shows a hunter siting at the base of a tree, aiming a shotgun at a tom in full strut. A scenario played out in woodlands all across the country. The opposite side of the call is adorned with a simple turkey tail feather. The scratch block is decorated with a small turkey body feather.
